My Story

Photo of Nancy Binzen

After receiving a BA in Theatre Arts from Macalester College, Nancy Binzen earned a Certificate in Storytelling from Dominican University and a Doctor of Ministry from Wisdom University. She later graduated from the Foundation for Shamanic Studies' Three-Year Program in Advanced Initiations in Shamanism and Shamanic Healing.

In between she married, raised a daughter, and managed her own marketing communications business, producing numerous award-winning videos, magazines, annual reports, and other written materials for both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.

Nancy's practice is influenced by more than 30 years of personal experiences with Huichol, Peruvian, Mazatec, Native American, Irish Druid, Dagara, and Aboriginal Australian elders. Her storytelling skills have been enhanced by working with Celtic shamanic practitioner Tom Cowan and mythologist Martin Shaw.

Nancy has long delighted in the power of indigenous wisdom and imagination to bring light and air into the closed, stuffy room of consensual reality.

Imagination is more important than knowledge. Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world.
